Computational analysis of functional single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with NPAS2 gene

چکیده
Circadian rhythm is a natural physiological process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle and occurs about every 24 hours. The fundamental molecular clock, NPAS2 (Neuronal PAS Domain Protein 2), generates mammalian circadian rhythms. Various diseases have been linked to single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in NPAS2. In this study, several computational approaches employed predict SNPs' functional structural consequences investigate deleterious roles of nsSNPs. Two nsSNPs (F190L S105I) were found with predicted functions linking disease. Alongside, from obtained ConSurf result, Q73, E61, K51, E167, L317, R514 expected as highly conserved exposed, while T114, T328, C299 buried. However, establish their role disease pathogenesis, further studies need be done on mutations gene. J. Bangladesh Acad. Sci. 47(1); 53-60: June 2023

Computational Analysis of Functional Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Associated with the CYP11B2 Gene
Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are the most common type of genetic variations in humans and play a major role in the genetics of human phenotype variation and the genetic basis of human complex diseases. Recently, there is considerable interest in understanding the possible role of the CYP11B2 gene with corticosterone methyl oxidase deficiency, primary aldosteronism, and cardio-cerebro-...
متن کاملComputational Refinement of Functional Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Associated with ATM Gene
BACKGROUND Understanding and predicting molecular basis of disease is one of the major challenges in modern biology and medicine. SNPs associated with complex disorders can create, destroy, or modify protein coding sites. Single amino acid substitutions in the ATM gene are the most common forms of genetic variations that account for various forms of cancer. However, the extent to which SNPs int...
متن کاملComputational Prediction of the Effects of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms of the Gene Encoding Human Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase
ABSTRACT Background and Objective: Genetic variations in the gene encoding endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) enzyme affect the susceptibility to cardiovascular disease. Identification of the way these changes affect eNOS structure and function in laboratory conditions is difficult and time-consuming. Thus, it seems essential to ...
متن کاملComputational Analysis of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Associated with Altered Drug Responsiveness in Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is one of the most frequent mortality causes in western countries, with rapidly increasing prevalence. Anti-diabetic drugs are the first therapeutic approach, although many patients develop drug resistance. Most drug responsiveness variability can be explained by genetic causes. Inter-individual variability is principally due to single nucleotide polymorphisms, and differe...
